In 2020, the Lantos Foundation announced a special Solidarity Sabbath season of the The Keeper podcast. In a time of social distancing, we stood virtually with the Jewish community all over the world as we brought listeners an entire season of The Keeper focused exclusively on anti-Semitism. Hosted by Lantos Foundation President Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett, The Keeper features in depth conversations about the most pressing matters of justice in our world and welcomes some of the most important human rights leaders of our time as guests in an effort to bring listeners episodes which are entertaining, thought- provoking, meaningful, and inspiring. The Solidarity Sabbath season guests included Holocaust survivors, historians, and those on the frontlines of the modern fight against anti-Semitism.

Guest : Irmela Mensah-Schramm

This episode offers the story of Irmela Mensah-Schramm, a grantee of the Lantos Foundation’s Front Line Fund, who removes every anti-Semitic sticker, poster, or graffiti that she comes across. There is no organization backing her, no funding from any government agency – just a woman with a bucket, a scraper and an inner moral compass that we should all seek to emulate.

Survivors

Guests : Kati Preston & Ervin Rodin

The Holocaust was the most extreme and horrific example of anti-Semitism the world has ever seen. Yet, somehow Jewish survivors of this atrocity were able to emerge from this dark time with their spirits unbroken and with a deep sense of their responsibility to ensure that such horrors never happen again.
